young family makeover

This past week I have been working with a couple to put the finishing touches on their space! Currently they have their main furniture items in place, such as their dining table and sectional sofa, but their main complaint is that it just isn't complete. So with two little ones to take into consideration, I was looking to provide them with both storage opportunities and some style!

I always tell clients that a great way to infuse their personality into a space is through artwork, and that is exactly what I did here. This particular client wanted touches of the beach since we do live in Florida, but not a coastal feel. So instead, I recommended beach inspired pieces that have a more modern approach. And who could resist the Judith Gigliotti aerial photography?

I'm so excited to see where this project goes, so stay tuned for the progress!

friday finds

What a whirlwind week, I can't believe May is here! We are starring summer in the face and I am so excited for the long, hot days ahead. As a Florida native, I thrive in the summer heat (am I the only one?) and am looking forward to boat rides, BBQs, and my favorite summer holidays. Is anyone else dying to lay under the setting sun until 8pm covered in bug spray & sunscreen?

With all that said, this week I am feeling the soft, casual look of summer. I absolutely love these pieces that exude comfort! You can never go wrong with a peacock chair and the colors in this mixed media piece by Kristi Kohut make me so happy :).

So pull up your lawn chair, throw on a fabulous woven hat, and enjoy a beverage in your super cool tumbler from Burkelman. Happy Friday!

:: accessories galore ::

This week I am running around grabbing some accessories for a client to complete their open living and dining space. I love this part of the process where you are honing in on the details and putting the finishing touches on to bring it all together!

I am all over the boxwood accessories and natural linens. There is something about the rawness of these materials that makes them approachable, but still sophisticated. I will definitely be back to Marketplace Interiors for more goodies and stay tuned for before and after photos!

:: dreaming of tile ::

This past week I have been on the move pulling tile for a few different projects, and happened to stop into a new showroom in the South Tampa area called The Tile Shop. I am so excited for this space because the showroom is beautiful, with wonderful selections and a number of their materials installed as great examples. It is one of the largest vignette installations that I have ever seen in one space, so check it out if you are in the area!

My mind is going a million miles a minute thinking how I can use these tiles! I especially love the marbles, ceramics, and mini pebble! Stay tuned for some before and afters of a number of these going into some fabulous spaces!
