:: salvage yard adventures :: by Lauren Andrews

Currently I am working on a home office project that is sure to be a dramatic transformation! I am so excited about the concepts that we have come up with and I can't wait to see everything come together!

So I stopped by the Schiller's salvage yard last week to scope out their door inventory and reclaimed wood options for some potential sliding barn doors! While I was there I stumbled upon a ton of great stuff including mountains of marble remnants!

There is an incredible door selection, but of course they are all way too tall for our space and it would be a shame to cut down the intricate detailing. I loved these twisted wood pillars that would be the most interesting accessories in any living room!

Stay tuned for progress and more details on this awesome little project!

:: wood look tile floors :: by Lauren Andrews

I am pulling inspiration and materials this week for a new client who is looking for wood-look tile floors throughout their home. I am so excited about this project because not only are they the most wonderful couple, but I am also a wood-look tile junkie.

Living in Florida, tile seems to be the most practical option for most people because of the humidity and unpredictable weather. Now you can have the best of both worlds, the warmth and depth of hardwoods but durability and cleanability of tile! Who can argue with that?

What I really love to investigate is all of the different installation types. There are so many creative ways to work with this material and my mind is racing on what I can do with this new project. So stay tuned for progress photos and enjoy some wood-look inspiration!

friday finds by Lauren Andrews

It is the best day of the week and I am back with a few of my favorite finds!

The temperature seemed to skyrocket today, so I want to cool things off with a ton of mint and gray accents! I love the clean lines on the slipcovered chairs from Serena & Lily, and the depth of Lola Donoghue's paintings! So walk off the heat in your fabulous Vince wedges and see you on Monday!

:: plumbing love :: by Lauren Andrews

We are in the midst of planning for a master bathroom renovation, so I stopped into the always beautiful Hollingsworth showroom yesterday. This location is new to Tampa, with their home base out of Jacksonville. If you haven't been in yet, you need to run there to check it out! Especially if you have an irrational obsession with plumbing fixtures like I do.

Hollingsworth is fantastic for the area because they bring a fresh, new perspective to the market. They carry lines that we as designers are familiar with, but there was no local showroom for our clients to go to see, touch, and feel the quality. You just can't beat the weight or finish of a Waterworks plumbing fixture and the depth or color of their tile lines. I am also ecstatic to see that the Waterworks Studio line price point comes in below some other mainstream brands that everyone is familiar with!

So needless to say, everyone should take a peek into the newest, baddest showroom in the area and stay tuned for more on our bathroom reno!

friday finds by Lauren Andrews

Friday Finds are coming at you a little late today, but better late than never!

I am ready to relax after a fast-paced week and the desperate anticipation of Jordon's homecoming from China. Speaking of far off lands, I love pieces that feel as if they have story behind them and you can stare at them forever mesmerized by their uniqueness, especially these perforated iron sconces from Anthropologie! So everyone take a load off and enjoy some inspiring items that feel as if they were collected from flea markets abroad. Happy Friday and Happy (early) Mother's Day!
